THE BEST COCKTAIL WORKSHOP IN LISBON
Mix, shake and sip your way through Lisbon's most iconic cocktails with your own private bartender tutor. Your group gets exclusive use of a stunning bar space in Bairro Alto — Lisbon's most famous cocktail neighbourhood — with three signature recipes, all the spirits and equipment you need, and two hours of pure entertainment. No strangers, no sharing, no rushing. Just your group and some seriously good drinks.
The cocktail workshop is one of the most popular activities on a hen party in Lisbon, and it's easy to see why. It works as a relaxed afternoon warm-up, a memorable pre-dinner activity or the centrepiece of the first evening out. Groups who book it consistently rate it as one of the highlights of their entire weekend — not just as an activity, but as an experience that brings the group together in a way that a bar crawl or dinner simply can't.
You'll learn the real story behind each cocktail — the history, the technique, the ingredients that make the difference between something drinkable and something extraordinary. No experience needed. No wrong answers. The bartender has taught complete beginners and experienced home mixologists alike, and the session is pitched perfectly regardless of your starting point.

WHAT IT ACTUALLY FEELS LIKE
Sessions run daily at 11am, 3pm and 6pm. The 6pm slot is by far the most popular for hen groups — you go straight from the workshop into dinner and the evening out with the group already buzzing and properly warmed up. The bar is a 3-minute walk from Baixa-Chiado metro. Arrive 5–10 minutes early and the bartender will have everything set up, labelled and ready to go.
The workshop typically starts with a short introduction to the cocktails you'll be making — the stories behind them, the ingredients, what makes each one special. Then you get behind the bar. The bartender demonstrates each technique first — the shake, the stir, the muddle, the garnish — and then your group replicates it. Every person makes their own drinks. You drink everything you make.
The menu is fully customisable. If you want classic gin and vodka-based cocktails, Portuguese-inspired drinks made with local spirits, something with prosecco throughout, or a mix of alcoholic and alcohol-free options — just tell us when you enquire and we'll build the session around your group. Popular add-ons include a photographer for the session, bottomless prosecco on arrival, and personalised cocktail naming for the bride or groom. After the workshop, most groups head to a traditional Portuguese dinner or straight into a bar crawl through Bairro Alto — the location makes either a natural next step.
Honestly the highlight of the whole weekend. The bartender was hilarious, the cocktails were incredible. We all left knowing how to make a proper drink — and we've been making them at home ever since. The bottomless prosecco add-on was the best decision we made.
PERFECT FOR HEN PARTIES & STAG DOS
The cocktail workshop works for almost any group — but it's particularly well-suited to hen parties in Lisbon where the group wants something a bit more original than drinks in a bar. It's hands-on, it's sociable, it produces something real at the end, and the group leaves with a shared experience and a recipe card rather than just a receipt.
For stag dos, the workshop is a brilliant afternoon activity before the evening out — it fills a 2-hour window perfectly and puts the group in exactly the right mood. Groups who have tried it alongside karting or paintball in the morning consistently say the contrast between high-energy activity and relaxed cocktail making is the perfect stag Saturday formula.
The minimum group size is 6 and the maximum per session is 30. Larger groups are split across two bartenders in the same space so nobody misses anything. If your group is particularly large or you want to combine the workshop with other activities, get in touch and we'll build the full package around your dates.
REAL REVIEWS FROM REAL GROUPS
Over 500 groups have booked through Fun in Portugal since 2008. These are what they say about cocktail workshop lisbon specifically.
We added the photographer and bottomless prosecco. Best decision we made. The photos came back next morning and they're stunning. The hen cried. Honestly can't recommend it enough.
We had one person who doesn't drink and they made non-alcoholic versions of everything. Really thoughtful — no one felt left out at all. The whole group was buzzing afterwards.
Did this as part of our Saturday afternoon before the night out. Perfect timing — 3pm slot, then dinner, then bar crawl. The cocktail workshop set the tone for the whole evening. Brilliant.
