WHAT IT ACTUALLY FEELS LIKE
The best beach clubs are on the Setúbal peninsula or the Cascais coast, approximately 45 minutes from central Lisbon. Most groups leave Lisbon around 10am to arrive at the beach club by 11am — the sunbeds are reserved, the day is ahead. Check in with the reservations team, get your wristbands, escorted to your reserved sunbeds. Welcome drinks arrive within minutes. The day has started.
The sunbed setup is proper VIP — not standard rental sunbeds in a row but a dedicated area for your group with a covered shaded canopy, cushions, side tables, and enough space to move around without invading anyone else's space. Your waiter is assigned to your group for the afternoon. Drinks, snacks and light meals arrive without you moving. The DJ plays throughout the afternoon — music, not shouting.
The Atlantic in summer (June–September) reaches 20–22°C which is cold for swimming but very comfortable once you're in. The waves at most of our beach clubs are moderate — good for bodysurfing, not intimidating. Most groups spend 4–5 hours at the beach, then head back to Lisbon by 5pm for a shower and evening activities.
