About Quad Biking Lisbon
Quad biking is the stag activity that works for absolutely everyone — lads who cannot drive, lads who will not shut up about their car, the best man who always wins karting, the groom who always loses. Two hours of off-road trails through the Arrábida hills south of Lisbon, 45 minutes from the city centre. No previous experience required, full safety briefing, helmets and goggles included.
The terrain is a mix of forest trails, dirt tracks, water crossings and a few technical climbs — enough variety to keep it interesting, gentle enough that nobody crashes if they follow the guide. Groups ride in a convoy with a lead instructor, a sweep rider at the back, and short stops every 20 minutes for photos, water and to check nobody has got themselves stuck in mud. Finishes with a beer at the quad farm — weekend started properly.
More About Quad Biking Lisbon
The quad centre is a 45-minute drive from central Lisbon, set in the foothills of the Serra da Arrábida natural park. Machines are Kawasaki or Yamaha 350cc–400cc automatic quads — easy to ride, fast enough to be fun, safe enough that someone who has never sat on one will be fine after the 10-minute practice lap. There is a short test lap on the home field before the main ride so instructors can see who needs more help.
What the ride looks like
Minute 0-20: Arrival, paperwork, gear fitting (helmets, goggles, gloves), safety briefing in English.
Minute 20-30: Practice lap on a flat circuit. Instructors watch and split the group into fast and steady.
Minute 30-120: Convoy ride through the trails. Two or three short photo stops. Water crossings, climbs, open-track stretches.
Minute 120-150: Return, hose-down, cold beer on the terrace with the group — all included.
Fitness and age
Drivers must be 18+ and have a driving licence (any country). No quad experience needed. Basic upper-body strength is enough. If the groom has a shoulder problem, flag it — the water crossings give a bit of a jolt.
