FULL-CONTACT BUBBLE FOOTBALL IN LISBON
Bubble football is exactly what it sounds like — full-contact football inside giant transparent zorb balls. You can't stay upright, the groom ends up on his back every thirty seconds, and the referee is trying not to laugh. It's the most physical, most ridiculous and most reliably hilarious stag activity we run. Nobody leaves without bruises and nobody leaves without tears of laughter. The photos alone justify the booking.
Bubble football is one of the most-booked outdoor activities on a stag do in Lisbon and consistently the activity groups rate as funniest afterwards. Unlike karting where the competition is serious, bubble football is pure slapstick — the zorb balls make proper football impossible, everyone falls over constantly, the "skills" that matter are balance and the ability to laugh at yourself. The less athletic your group, the better the session tends to go.
The format runs as a proper tournament — teams, rounds, a final and a presentation for the winning side. All zorb balls, bibs, a dedicated referee and a pitch are included. No experience needed and no fitness required. Most groups combine it with karting or a bar crawl for the perfect stag Saturday — one activity for the competitive edge, bubble football for the comedy, then the nightlife for the finale.

WHAT IT ACTUALLY FEELS LIKE
The session runs for around 90 minutes total — safety briefing, warm-up (inflating the zorb balls, getting used to the weight), then straight into the tournament format. Most groups are laughing uncontrollably within the first 5 minutes. The zorb balls weigh enough that running in them is harder than it looks, and collisions between players send both of them bouncing backwards in ways that are physically impossible without the bubble.
The tournament format keeps things interesting. Two or three teams play round-robin matches of 10–15 minutes each, then the top two play in a final. The referee keeps score, manages time, and intervenes when (not if) someone gets stuck on their back unable to roll upright. The groom is usually targeted for coordinated takedowns — not aggressive, just relentless — which produces the best photos and the longest-lasting group stories.
Most groups combine bubble football with karting on the same day (same general area outside Lisbon, we can book both in one afternoon) and a bar crawl in the evening. The perfect stag Saturday format: bubble football morning for the laughter, karting afternoon for the competition, bar crawl evening for the nightlife. Ask us about the combined package.
The groom fell over before we'd even started properly. The best man couldn't stop laughing long enough to play. It was absolute carnage from start to finish. Genuinely the funniest hour of my life — and the photos are brutal.
BUILT FOR STAG GROUPS WHO WANT TO LAUGH
Bubble football is the ultimate pure-comedy activity for stag groups. It works for any fitness level, any previous football experience (or none), any age range from 18 upwards. The zorb balls do the work — the less coordinated your group, the funnier the session. Groups of office workers who haven't done sport in 15 years consistently have the best time.
For hen groups, bubble football is less common but absolutely available — adventurous hen groups who want something genuinely active and physical love it. For mixed hen-stag celebrations (which we arrange occasionally), it's a perfect equaliser since physical strength gives almost no advantage when you're rolling around inside a giant beach ball.
Minimum group size is 8 players (two teams of 4). Maximum is around 20. For larger groups of 25+ we can arrange two pitches running simultaneously. The pitch is outdoor with grass or artificial turf — avoid wearing anything you'd be upset to get muddy.
REAL REVIEWS FROM REAL GROUPS
Over 500 groups have booked through Fun in Portugal since 2008. These are what they say about bubble football lisbon specifically.
I've done a lot of stag activities. Nothing — absolutely nothing — has made me laugh as hard as bubble football. The groom got knocked over six times in the first two minutes. Unmissable and unforgettable.
We're not particularly sporty lads. Didn't matter in the slightest. The less coordinated you are the better this activity gets. Brilliant idea, perfectly run, chaotic from start to finish. Photos are excellent.
Combined bubble football with karting on the Saturday. Perfect stag day format. The bubble football banter lasted the entire evening out. The groom still brings it up three months later at work.

FREQUENTLY ASKED
Absolutely not — in fact the less coordinated your group, the more entertaining it gets. No previous football experience needed. The zorb balls do most of the work and proper football skill gives almost no advantage. Anyone can play and everyone has fun.
We need at least 8 players to run the proper tournament format (two teams of 4). Maximum is around 20 — larger groups of 25+ can be split across two pitches running simultaneously. Most groups of 10–16 find the single-pitch format works brilliantly.
Trainers and comfortable clothing you don't mind getting dirty. The pitch is on grass or artificial turf. Avoid wearing anything expensive or that you'd be upset to get muddy — you will end up on the ground repeatedly.
The outdoor pitch is approximately 25–30 minutes from central Lisbon by taxi or Uber. We provide full transfer guidance with your booking and can arrange private group transport on request for larger groups.
COMBINE WITH THESE
Bubble Football Lisbon pairs brilliantly with these other Lisbon activities. Most groups book 2–3 activities across the weekend — we'll build the full itinerary around your dates and group size.
