The two Albufeiras: The Strip vs the Old Town
The Strip — officially Avenida Sá Carneiro, up in the Areias de São João area by Praia da Oura — is the neon, mini-Las Vegas end of town. It's the epicentre of all-night partying: big themed bars, mechanical bulls, shot deals, and clubs where the DJs don't get going until 1–2am and the doors don't close until 6. If a loud, dance-till-sunrise night is the point, this is your postcode.
The Old Town — centred on Rua Cândido dos Reis and the Largo Engenheiro Duarte Pacheco square by the fishermen's beach — is the prettier, more grown-up Albufeira: cobbled lanes, cocktail bars, live music, rooftop terraces, and a crowd of all ages. It still parties late; it just doesn't chase the sunrise.

The best bars & clubs in Albufeira
On The Strip: Matt's Bar (terrace, DJs till 4am, the mechanical bull), La Bamba (Latin party anthems), Tequila Loca (Mexican-themed, themed nights) and Route 66 for karaoke. For the big club finish: Club Heaven (up to 1,500 people, neon and pool parties), Club Vida (multi-level, open till 6am) and Club Tropicana.
In the Old Town: cocktail bars, rooftops and live-music spots around Rua Cândido dos Reis — perfect for the earlier, classier part of the night.
