WHAT IT ACTUALLY FEELS LIKE
Most groups start the bar crawl between 9:30pm and 10:30pm. Porto nightlife peaks late — bars really get going around 11pm and clubs don't fill up until after midnight — so starting too early just means drinking in half-empty venues. We recommend dinner first (our traditional Portuguese dinner runs until around 9:30pm and finishes perfectly timed for the crawl) and then meeting your guide at the agreed venue.
The guide handles the entire logistics — which direction to walk, which doormen to greet, which shots are waiting, where the bathrooms are, where to pick up water. You follow the energy. The route covers five venues in roughly 3.5 hours, leaving enough time in each place to actually enjoy the atmosphere rather than rushing through.
