Óbidos and Fátima Tours

Be a pilgrim for one day and join us for one of our Fátima tours. Any trip to Lisbon must include a visit to the Sanctuary of Fátima, where the Blessed Virgin miraculously appeared to three peasant children in 1916-17. In the Chapel of the Apparitions with the image of Our Lady is part of the Sanctuary and has also the basilica as a central tower of several floors. In this space, the visitors can also visit the XVI Pauls Pastoral Center, several religious dependencies, a monument concerning the Berlin Wall and the cribby made by José Aurélio. The Sanctuary of Fátima is one of the most important Christian sites with approximately 5 million visitors each year

We step back in time when we arrive at the spectacular and very ancient walled town called Óbidos. This beautiful town is surrounded by medieval walls where you can admire the architecture, the diversity of the handicrafts and taste the famous ginja (bitter cherry liqueur).A medieval city enclosed by the walls of the castle with picturesque narrow streets, whitewashed houses, iron balconies, flower pots in every window. What makes it one of Europe’s most romantic medieval villages are its incredibly picturesque cobblestone streets. It is lined with colorful houses filled with geraniums and bougainvillea – all encircled by the walls of a 12th century castle.

Inhabited by Romans and Arabs, this was the dwelling place of the Portuguese court for more than 500 years. We’ll walk through the feudal streets up to the main square close to the highest castle-tower, from where you can enjoy a nice view over the countryside and Óbidos.

The municipality is also home to the well known and prestigious Praia D’el Rey golf complex, one of the top golf resorts in Europe. This a relaxing tour that combines a visit to a major Christian pilgrimage site with countryside sightseeing.
